The package can also be
used by the teacher as a supplementary aid or companion,
thereby drastically reducing the routine task of administering
exercises, evaluating them, devising grammatical explanations
and narrating the text with standard pronunciation and intonation.
The course is based on
the syllabus of the Hindi Praveen course already being conducted
through classroom teaching and distance education by the
Department of Official Language (DOL), Ministry of Home
Affairs (MHA). The package represents the latest in the
multimedia language tutoring system and contains a speech
and video interface as well as a record and compare facility
all integrated into the text. The medium of instruction
is English.
The objective of the software
is to impart teaching of a comparatively advanced level
of Hindi enough to communicate in day to day situations
and to equip the learner with a sound base of written Hindi
and its core functional grammar. The continuous interactive
participation through the computer in the self-learning
process is likely to give the user an extra edge in terms
of reading, writing, speaking and grammar. |
