PERSONNEL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
This software for Personnel Information Management System (PIMS) has been developed keeping the requirement of a large department with offices at dispersed location in view. It consists of a number of modules such as personal information, recruitment, transfer & promotion, pay salary & disbursement, leaves record, training and departmental examination, reviews, retirement benefits, and so on.

The software was initially developed and successfully deployed for PWD, Maharashtra and later in the Treasury. It is highly customizable for other similar departments or organizational applications.

OCTROI MANAGEMENT, MAHARASHTRA
The application enables to rid all cash transactions involved at Octroi posts. In turn, credit account of the transporters or their lump sum deposit is used for debiting the Octroi. Sometimes where required, bank drafts are given for the value of Octroi to be collected. All Octroi posts are linked with the Head Office for reconciliation of accounts. The whole process minimizes delays and hassles otherwise encountered by the transporters at the posts. This multi-user application also permits trend analysis and preparation of defaulter list, etc. to be prepared regularly.

The system has been implemented at Nashik Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra State, linking their seventeen Octroi posts.

STATE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY/COUNCIL OPERATION COMPUTERIZATION
A solution to computerize the operations of Legislative Assembly/Council was developed for Maharashtra. It helps in faster enaction of laws, passing the budget, providing money by taxation and authorizing its expenditure, and affording opportunities to the Legislators to exercise control and supervision over the Executive Government by way of criticism in a variety of ways on matters of administration.

The application successfully developed and commissioned consists of following modules: Library, Reporting and Editing, Questions, Bills-Resolutions-Motions, Committees, Establishment-Accounts-Salaries, General Administration and Security.

TELEPHONE REVENUE BILLING (PUNE TELECOM)
The total software was developed with the intention to provide the broad functionalities: Billing, Collection, Accounting and Customer Care. Out of these Billing was successfully implemented and was in use from October 1996 to July 2001.

PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT SOLUTION
The volatile nature of the stock exchange needs to be at all times, closely monitored. In such a dynamic situation, the investors' interests can be safeguarded if they have the right tools to compare and analyze data of the capital market and the companies, which are a part of this market. With a view to analyze these movements and allow investors to make sound and safe investments, C-DAC has developed a Portfolio Management Solution.

INTEGRATED ELECTORAL ROLLS FOR ELECTION COMMISSION
The voter's list in a State in the form of electoral rolls is regularly prepared and updated. It involves immense amount of data to be handled, besides its accuracy and timely availability.

A project on preparation of integrated electoral rolls with updated entries was successfully completed as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, for the Maharashtra State. This covers all 48 Lok Sabha and 288 Assembly constituencies with 5.23 crore voters till January 1, 2001. The list in a CD form is available with the District Collector's Office.

SEED PROCESSING COMPUTERIZATION
In an agro-based economy, collection and distribution of seeds is an important activity. The process typically involves receiving raw seeds from various farmers, their grading, testing and treatment, certification, packaging, billing and dispatch. These functions are executed by State Seed Corporations at their various processing plants.

An information system suitably designed and implemented would ensure proper farmer satisfaction through prompt diagnostic services, effective administration, cost control, and improved testing and delivery services through MIS.

A project on these lines for computerization of activities of the Maharashtra State Seed Corporation Ltd. was executed successfully. The application software developed comprised of eight different modules covering various functionalities.

LABORATORY MANAGEMENT & AUTOMATION SYSTEM (LAMAS)
Large laboratory infrastructures deal with a variety of processes, apart from common MIS. These are tests, analyses, certification, quality control and reports. Also needed are purchase, accounting, billing and planning system applications. Once automated and integrated, these applications can be of considerable help in productivity of laboratory functions.

A project on LAMAS was executed and commissioned for the Central Power Research Institute, Bangalore, catering to all these functions.

NETWORKING TO ENABLE ENTERPRISE-WIDE DATA EXCHANGE
C-DAC has successfully implemented numerous projects in the areas of computerization and networking in various institutions in India. This LAN / WAN connectivity enables enterprise-wide data exchange.

CONSULTANCY FOR DEVELOPING FRAMEWORK FOR INFORMATION SYSTEM PLANNING
C-DAC has acted as a Consultant to the Govt. of Gujarat and Govt. of M.P. for formulation of a statewide policy and procedure for selection of services and vendors who could provide the requisite services for a variety of eGovernance projects. Gujarat Informatics Ltd. (GIL) and MAP-IT are the front ending agencies respectively for the two States for whom the consultancy was carried out: The job involves standardization of Front end / backend for application interfaces along with network topology and components involved. Scope of work also includes definition of processes for compiling tender document, evaluation and subsequent negotiations and supervising installations.

C-DAC is currently executing a consultancy assignment for study of requirements of 20 large departments of Govt. of Goa for enabling their computerization of activities.
