Indian Society of Geomatics
(ISG) held its Annual Convention and Conference on "Geomatics
in Electronic Governance" at C-DAC, Pune. The scope of the
conference was to examine all aspects of Geomatics related to electronic governance. The forum provided an
opportunity to professionals, researchers and engineers,
government officials and the industry to discuss and understand
the dimensions of the issues involved. Several eminent researchers
delivered the lead talks. There was a pre-conference tutorial
that lasted for three days, from January 18 - 20, 2000.
It dealt with fundamental concepts and introduction of GIS
tools and techniques with applications in utility management.
Case studies with applications of Geomatics in utility management
were presented on the third day.
