The Betatesting Group,
NPSF, C-DAC, Pune is responsible for Designing Test Methodology & execute Test Plan for Grid Computing Infrastructure - GARUDA.
GITeMS v1.0 software is a set of test programs that check the basic grid services, quantify the Grid middleware overheads and data intensive benchmarks. The objective is to execute test programs on integrated software and hardware infrastructure of grid computing which is a vital aspect building GARUDA. It provides an overview of testing methodology, focusing on various test cases for testing of GARUDA Grid infrastructure from user's perspective. The test programs development is still being worked on and it should be taken as a good indication of the set of test programs for execution. The test programs exposed to the application characteristics, as far as possible, independent of the Grid middleware incarnation used. The test cases also focus on grid-programming features to enable applications for Grid computing using Globus Toolkit (References). To address testing issues, the following objectives have been considered.
- Enable all GARUDA Partner Sites to successfully deploy GARUDA Infrastructure (GARUDA Sigma software) on their local resources.
- Enable all GARUDA Partner Sites to successfully contribute Grid-enabled resources to the Nation Wide GARUDA Infrastructure
- Enable all the GARUDA Grid usable resources, so that users collaborating on Science and Engineering Projects under GARUDA Partners will have access to the hardware and software resources to enable them to successfully carry out their research.
- Enable all the GARUDA Partner sites to execute grid-enabled applications with different Grid Programming paradigms on Parallel Processing platforms, available on GARUDA.
